Emerging Leaders United

About the Program

Emerging Leaders United is a program for adults under age 40 who donate or pledge a minimum annual gift of $250 or a combined minimum annual gift of $500 with their spouse.

Emerging Leaders United will allow you to discover and expand your philanthropic passions through volunteering, networking and community involvement. 

Anyone who qualifies for the Emerging Leaders United program AND checks the box on their pledge form will be invited to participate in these opportunities. To learn more or to become part of this group, contact United Way at 507-345-4551 or MankatoUW@mankatounitedway.org.

Partner Agency Spotlight | Minnesota Reading Corps

Minnesota Reading Corps is one of Greater Mankato Area United Way's newest partner programs. This program trains AmeriCorps members as tutors and embeds them in schools for a year. There, they use evidence-based interventions to provide individualized literacy tutoring to children up to grade 3 to help them to read proficiently by the end of 3rd grade. Since 2013, Reading Corps tutors have successfully served 3,186 children in the Greater Mankato Area United Way’s service area.


Business of Giving Series | Lime Valley Advertising

Join us at Lime Valley Advertising, 1620 S. Riverfront Drive, for our first Business of Giving Series session of the year. This event was scheduled for April 16 and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Hear the leadership journey of Lime Valley owner Brian Maciej as he progressed from graphic designer to an award-winning business owner with a passion for giving back to the community. 

As a full service agency, Lime Valley helps clients connect with customers through website design and web programming, graphic design, creative and technical writing, logo design, brochure development, public relations, search engine optimization (SEO) and more. Lime Valley Advertising leverages the talents of its 12 staff members to create award-winning marketing communications pieces.

Host a donation box for Project Community Connect

Project Community Connect, scheduled for April 21, will be postponed until April 20, 2021.

Host a donation drive at your workplace for items to be distributed at Project Community Connect. 

Project Community Connect is a free, one-stop resource expo that connects those in poverty in our 9-county area to local service providers. Needed items include diapers, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, tissues, paper towels and children's hygiene items. 

Look for volunteer opportunities soon for this powerful event.

Other Opportunities

  • Volunteer for various community projects with other Emerging Leaders.

  • Meet corporate and community leaders as well as other young leaders who will help you grow both professionally and in philanthropy.

  • Attend the Tocqueville Speaker Series, in which Tocqueville Society Leaders (those who give a personal annual gift of $10,000 or more) share their professional and personal journeys and their perspectives on philanthropy.

  • Attend the Business of Giving Series, in which regional business leaders invite Emerging Leaders to learn more about what their company's perspective on giving and what they do to give back to the community.
